I kinda feel like Apple is full of hot air with this ultra thin laptop.
There must be some other reason to develop it, because I don’t hear a lot of people complaining about the weight or thickness of their Mac laptops.
It’s always great, as a product company and industry leader, to be able to use superlatives like “thinnest”. To me, this was their opportunity, to create the “something”-est.
And they made a nice laptop, albeit one with missing features and limited expandability.

I’m so over Apple. Half the shit in my house is Apple, but my list of “nevers” for them keeps growing. Started with not doing iPhone updates until weeks later in case it’s going to trash my phone. iPhone syncs wiping out Outlook calendars. I’ve never really bought content from the iTunes store because I knew the 5-machine DRM would catch up and would have bitten me - between iPods, computers, and the phone, we’re at 11 devices. And the newest Apple bullshit - the QuickTime update that trashes After Effects and makes you reinstall your OS to roll it back. Going to an Apple store and having to make an appointment 8 hours later to return a clearly defective brand new iPod. Oh, and carrying my $49 flip phone in my pocket too because the iPhone’s worst feature is the phone. I’m bitter today.
